ON TAP: Eastern Illinois will continue its 2026 nonconference schedule on the road against Chicago State. The Panthers will look to bounce back and pick up their first victory of the season after battling through a challenging opening stretch of the campaign. 

LOOKING FOR FIRST WIN: EIU enters the match still searching for its first win of the 2026 season. The Panthers have shown competitive stretches throughout the opening matches, including a 1-1 draw against St. Thomas and a 1-2 loss to Northern Illinois before battling to a 3-3 draw against Bradley. 

DEFENSIVE EFFORT: The Panthers will look to continue getting strong defensive performances as they prepare for Chicago State. EIU's back line has remained a key part of the team's efforts early in the season, with players such as senior Andre Ecker and Patrick Osilaja providing experience and leadership defensively. 

OFFENSIVE OPPORTUNITIES: EIU will look to create more consistent scoring opportunities against Chicago State. The Panthers have received contributions from several players throughout the opening matches and will look to capitalize on their chances in the attacking third. Look to see more action from Nolan Getzinger. Her made a big impact last game for the Panthers as he scored his first goal of the season and ignited the Panthers to score three goals against Bradley.  

SERIES HISTORY: EIU and Chicago State will meet as part of the Panthers' six-match nonconference schedule before the start of Ohio Valley Conference play. 

NEXT UP: Following the match against Chicago State, Eastern Illinois will travel to Marshall before opening OVC play against Western Illinois on Sept. 26.
