Eastern Illinois Athletics wrapped up its 20th year as a member of the Ohio Valley Conference in May.  As a way to celebrate the many accomplishments, both team and individual during that time period, EIU conducted an online poll during the month of May for fans to help select the Top 20 athletes of the Panthers OVC Era.  During the month of June we will unveil the top 20 athletes as selected by the more than 2,500 fan votes submitted.  The original list of 40 athletes was comprised by a committee looking at a variety of criteria including Player of the Year, All-American selection and multiple time first-team All-OVC honors.

#3 Henry Domercant (2000-03)

Domercant was one of the most prolific scorers in not only Eastern Illinois basketball history but also the Ohio Valley Conference and NCAA.   His 2,602 points rank first on both the EIU and OVC career charts.  At the end of his collegiate career he ranked in the top 30 for NCAA career scorers.   Domercant made an impact as a sophomore helping lead the Panthers to the NCAA Basketball Tournament in 2001.  He was fifth in the nation in scoring that season averaging 22.8 points per game.   He would finish second in the nation in scoring each of the next two seasons averaging 26.4 points per game as a junior and 27.9 points per game as a senior.  He is one of only 11 NCAA Division I players to ever rank in the top five in scoring in the nation in three or more seasons.  He was a three-time first team All-OVC selection and was the OVC Player of the Year in 2002.   He earned honorable mention All-American honors by the Associated Press and was the OVC Overall Male Athlete of the Year for 2001-02.  In addition to his scoring prowess, Domercant ranks in the EIU career top ten for rebounds (3rd with 798), steals (8th with 138) and blocked shots (8th with 66).
