HAMMOND, Ind. -- After placing fourth in the fall opening WIU Autumn Invite, the Eastern Illinois women's golf once again took home a fourth place finish at the two-day Chicago State Fall Classic.
Senior
Jaymie Voorhees led all Panthers with a seventh place tie, as she fired rounds of 78 and 81 to finish 15-over-par at the Lost Marsh Golf Course. Also placing in the Top 10 was fellow senior
Katie Imburgia, who tied for ninth behind rounds of 77 and 84.
Other EIU scorers included freshman Emily Calhoun tying for 24th, while
Veronica Bernier and
Kathryn Koester ended up in 26th and 41st place, respectively.
The Eastern squad actually had their best round of the fall season on day one of the classic, with a 321 total, but faltered a bit on day two with a 334, to finish fourth with 655 total strokes.
Butler won the team title with the Bulldogs' own Molly Fields captured first place individually.
Other Panthers competing as non-scorers were
Jenna Fox (T-24th),
Lauren Williams (42nd), and
Sarah Magee (46th).
The Panthers will next compete at the three-day Butler Invitational, with a practice round scheduled for Oct. 4, followed by official action on Oct. 5-6.
