GAME EIGHT
The Panther women's basketball team looks to bounce back from a two-point loss at Missouri when they play host to Indiana State on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 4 p.m. EIU is 5-2 on the year while Indiana State sits at 5-3.
GAME PROMOTIONS
The first 250 fans in attendance will receive a free, long sleeved t-shirt courtesy of the Panther athletic department. One fan will also be randomly selected to participate in a halftime contest with an opportunity to win $10,000. At the conclusion of the game, their will be an autograph session with the Panther women's basketball team.
EIU-INDIANA STATE SERIES
The Panthers trail the all-time series with Indiana State, 31-22, and will be looking for their first win over the Sycamores since a 74-72 overtime victory in Charleston on Nov. 29, 2000.
EIU head coach Brady Sallee is 0-5 all-time against Indiana State. The Panthers dropped last year's contest, 59-50, in Terre Haute, Ind.
Ta'Kenya Nixon led EIU in the loss with 15 points.
LAST TIME OUT
The Panther women's basketball team is coming off a 56-54 loss at Missouri on Wednesday night. Both
Mariah King and
Ta'Kenya Nixon posted double-doubles to pace the Panthers. EIU was held to a season-low 31.7 percent field goal percentage on the night.
SCOUTING THE SYCAMORES
Indiana State is coming off a 49-46 home win over Butler on Dec. 6. Shannon Thomas leads the Sycamores, averaging 13 points per game and 9.6 rebounds per game. Indiana State is averaging 58.2 points per game on the year.
SUCCESS INSIDE LANTZ ARENA UNDER BRADY SALLEE
Since head coach
Brady Sallee took over the Panther women's basketball program, EIU has posted a 69-31 overall record inside Lantz Arena. The Panthers have posted a .794 winning percentage with a 50-13 record in home games since the start of the 2007-08 campaign.
PLAYER NOTES
- Senior
Chantelle Pressley had a career-high eight steals in the loss at Missouri. The Lexington, Ky., native was the only Panther to record a steal in the contest and became the first player to have six or more steals in a game since
Ta'Kenya Nixon had six steals against Tennessee Tech on - Jan. 4, 2010. Pressley's eight steals are the most by an OVC player in a single game since Morehead State's Chynna Bozeman did it last year against Murray State on Dec. 4.

Mariah King posted her second career double-double on Wednesday against Missouri, scoring a team-high 16 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. The junior forward had her first career double-double (16 points, 15 rebounds) earlier this season at Sacramento State on Nov. 26.

Ta'Kenya Nixon recorded her ninth career double-double and first of the season against Missouri, scoring 12 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. The junior guard's previous double-double came against Morehead State on Feb. 10, 2011 when she scored 25 points to go along with 10 rebounds.

Chantelle Pressley continues to be nearly perfect from the charity stripe this season, knocking down 95 percent (19-for-20) of her shots from the free throw line. Pressley ranks 12
th in the nation in free-throw percentage.
- After playing in six games and averaging 28.9 minutes per game,
Kelsey Wyss took her first free throw attempts of the season at Missouri. She went 2-for-2 from the foul line in the loss. Last season, the junior guard connected on nearly 80 percent of her shots from the charity stripe.

Mariah King hit her first three pointer of the year against Missouri, finishing the game 1-for-4 from behind the arc.

Kelsey Wyss has hit a three pointer in every game this season and has a streak of 14 consecutive games with a made three pointer dating back to last year. The Hoagland, Ind., native ranks 10
th in the nation in three-point field goal percentage, hitting 53.1 percent of her shots from behind the arc.
TEAM NOTES
- Three Panther players are shooting over 50 percent from the floor this season in
Chantelle Pressley,
Ta'Kenya Nixon and
Kelsey Wyss.
- Four Panthers are averaging 10 or more points per game this season, the only team in the OVC to have that many players scoring in double figures. Only two other teams in the conference even have three players averaging double figures in Morehead State and Jacksonville State.
- In the loss to Missouri, the Panthers were out rebounded for the first time this season as the Tigers out rebounded EIU, 42-41. EIU has out rebounded opponents by 10.1 rebounds per game, the 12
th best mark in the nation.
- EIU is averaging 24.7 points per game from its bench players, led by sophomore
Jordyne Crunk's 7.9 points per game. Classmate
Jessica Parker is adding 5.3 points per game off the bench.
- EIU was held to a season-low 31.7 field-goal percentage on Wednesday against Missouri. The Panthers have only shot below 40 percent twice this year with the previous low, 35.7 percent, coming at Bradley.
- Despite losing to Missouri, the Panthers held the Tigers to only 56 points - their lowest scoring effort of the year as Missouri was averaging 73.7 points per game heading into the contest on Wednesday. Defensively, EIU did not allow any fast break points to the Tigers and limited them to only five, second-chance points.
- For the second consecutive game, EIU committed a season-low 12 turnovers at Missouri. EIU also had 12 miscues against Western Illinois on Dec. 5.
- EIU was held to under 20 bench points for only the second time this season in the loss to Missouri and held under 10 bench points for the first time all year. The Panthers were averaging 27.7 points per game from their bench entering Wednesday's contest.
- EIU leads the OVC in multiple offensive statistical categories, including scoring offense (79.3), field-goal percentage (.442), scoring margin (+17.9), three-point field goal percentage (.336), rebounding offense (45.9) and assists per game (18.3).
- Defensively, the Panthers rank first in the OVC in rebounding defense (35.7) and rebounding margin (+10.1) and second in both scoring defense (61.4) and field-goal percentage defense (.371).
WYSS MOVES INTO THE CAREER CHARTS
Junior guard
Kelsey Wyss currently has 97 made three pointers throughout her career, the 10
th highest total in school history.
EIU SETS SCHOOL RECORD FOR THREE POINTERS
The Panthers drained a school record 14 three pointers at San Jose State last week, led by
Jessica Parker and
Kelsey Wyss who combined for 10 three pointers. Six different players hit a shot from behind the arc in the 93-71 win. EIU's previous record was 13 three pointers at Morehead State on Feb. 26, 2000.
NXION IN THE CAREER CHARTS
Ta'Kenya Nixon has made 309 free throws in her career, the seventh most in school history. The Michigan City, Ind., native only needs three more made free throws to pass Barb Perkes (1987-90) and move up to sixth all-time.
Nixon also has dished out 345 assists in her career so far, only needing 11 more assists to move in the top-10 career assists chart.
PRESSLEY IN THE CAREER CHARTS
Senior forward
Chantelle Pressley has 64 career blocks, the eighth most in school history. The Lexington, Ky., native needs only six more blocks to move into seventh all-time in career blocks and pass former teammate Maggie Kloak who blocked 69 shots from 2007-10.

EIU women's basketball is ranked 23
rd in the most recent CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 Poll. EIU was the lone Ohio Valley Conference team ranked in the poll. OVC foe Tennessee Tech earned three votes in the weekly poll.
