Panthers, Huskies Play to Scoreless Draw

EIU closes its non-conference schedule at Akron on Saturday, Sept. 17

DEKALB, Ill. –
The Eastern Illinois women's soccer team played to a scoreless draw against Northern Illinois on Tuesday evening at the NIU Soccer Complex.

The Panthers (1-5-2) took seven shots in the match, paced by freshman Meagan Radloff who took three shots including one on goal. Junior Kristin Germann also had two shots in the contest.

Kelsey Passaglia led a Northern Illinois squad that took a total of 24 shots in the match with seven shots, including two on goal. The Huskies (0-5-2) also took 11 more corner kicks (13-2) than the Panthers. EIU committed four more fouls in the contest (11-7) than NIU.

Senior defenders and captains Sam Balek and Erika Prazma played in all 110 minutes for EIU. Goalkeeper Jessica Taldone also played the entire match, making nine saves between the pipes. The Crystal Lake, Ill., native has a 0.62 goals against average in the team's last three matches to go along with 18 saves and two shutouts.

Amy Carr made two saves in 110 minutes in goal for the Huskies.

The Panthers return to action at Akron on Sept. 17 before opening Ohio Valley Conference action on Sept. 23-25. EIU plays host to Tennessee Tech on Sept. 23 and Jacksonville State on Sept. 25.
