MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Lauren Doyle and
Madison Kissner each scored three trys as Eastern Illinois women's rugby picked up a 57-31 win at Middle Tennessee State on Saturday (Nov. 3) afternoon.
The victory ups the Panther record to 5-2 overall as EIU has now won four consecutive road matches and own the all-time series advantage over the Blue Raiders, 2-0.
Kissner also dished out a team-high three assists and scampered for four runs over 20-yards, while
Carissa Burge added two of her own, while also booting her way to a 6-for-7 mark in two-point conversions to garner 12 total points in the contest.
Jasmine Gardner,
Kelsey Jackson and
Ellen Wilson all earned a try, as Eastern enjoyed a 28-14 halftime lead prior to scampering for the 57-31 victory.
Defensively, Burge tied
Kim Youhas with six solo stops with Burge also leading with two assisted tackles. Doyle, meanwhile, recorded four steals-at-tackle.
The Panthers will finish up the 2012 campaign next weekend, as EIU added a road contest at Georgia Tech, set for an 11 a.m. start on Sunday, Nov. 11.
