CHICAGO – Former Eastern Illinois All-American defensive end Pierre Walters was traded to his hometown team the Chicago Rush on Wednesday as part of a trade between the Rush and the Spokane Shock, both of the Arena Football League. Walters played in one game with the Shock recording two quarterback hurries. He was inactive for the Shock's other three games as the team is currently 1-3 overall.
The Chicago Rush are currently 4-0 in the Arena Football League and will play at the Georgia Force this Saturday. Walters first home game as member of the Rush will be on April 21 against the Milwaukee Mustangs. Walters is in his first season in the Arena Football League. He played 3 games for the Kansas City Chiefs during his NFL career and was a two-year member of the team.
Former EIU defensive back Terrance Sanders is making a name for himself in the AFL as he currently ranks third in the league in tackles with 33 tackles in four games for the Spokane Shock. Sanders is second in the AFL in kick return average at 23.4 yards per return including one touchdown.
Former EIU wide receiver Micah Rucker is currently listed on the inactive status as a member of the New Orleans VooDoo.
