Poulter Named To The OVC All-Tourney Team

Freshman Mady Poulter was the sole Panther to be named to the 2016 OVC All-Tournament Team.

OXFORD, Ala. - Freshman Mady Poulter was the sole Panther to be named to the 2016 OVC All-Tournament team in her first postseason appearance for EIU.

The Panther second baseman led the team in hitting over the course of their four games going 4-for-7 at the plate to finish the tournament with a .571 batting average. Poulter reached base succesfully in each game for EIU drawing four walks throughout the tournament. The St. Joseph, Illinois native led the team with four runs scored while also going 1-for-1 in stolen base attempts.

Poulter dazzled defensively at second base for EIU during the tournament making more than a few highlight reel diving catches. She finished the tournament with seven put-outs and three assists. Poulter was one of only three players to start in every game for EIU this season accumulating 72 assists on the year second only to Katie Watson.

This award marks Poulter's first major accomplishment as a Panther in what is sure to be a highlight reel career at EIU.
