DENVER – Eastern Illinois men's soccer was held to only three shot attempts and no shots on goal Saturday evening as the Panthers lost a road match at Denver in Summit League play, 1-0.

EIU dropped to 2-5-5 on the season, 0-2-1 in the Summit League. Denver is now 6-5-0, 1-0 in the Summit League.

The two teams played a scoreless first half with Denver placing four shots on goal with eight total shots in the half. EIU had one of its three shots in the first half.

Just over six minutes into the second half Eric Kronenberg scored the only goal of the match as he finished off a pass from 16-yards out. Andre Shinyashiki and Kenny Akamatsu were credited with the assist.

Mike Novotny finished with four saves in goal for EIU. Nick Gardner finished with a shutout for the Pioneers.
