** During the month of July EIUpanthers.com will take a look back at 11 moments, events or performances that helped shape the 2016-17 school year. **

Eastern Illinois women's track doubled up in the championship column during the 2016-17 school year as the Panthers swept both the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor and Outdoor Track titles.

The EIU women won their eighth outdoor team title while bringing home their seventh indoor track crown.  It marked the sixth time in school history that the Panthers had swept both the women's indoor and outdoor track titles in the same season with previous season sweeps in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.

The Panthers had three athletes earn first team All-OVC honors with Kristen Paris, Haleigh Knapp (twice) and Bryn Buckwalter (twice) all winning events.

Darneisha Spann, Angelica Anyaogu and Buckwalter all earned second team All-OVC honors with silver medal finishes in events.

During the indoor championships, Knapp set the OVC, EIU and Lantz Fieldhouse record for the high jump.
