BRENTWOOD, Tenn. -  Abby Wahl of Eastern Illinois women's basketball is named Freshman of the Week as the Ohio Valley Conference releases their weekly report. This is Wahl's first career honor.

The Panthers only game for the previous week was last night at home vs. Eureka College. Wahl played 16 minutes off the bench for EIU and set career-highs with 13 points and  eight rebounds. She was 5-of-9 from the field and a perfect 3-for-3 from the free throw line. Wahl also recorded two steals and one assist in the Panthers 104-48 win over the Red Devils.

EIU will be back in action this week as they open conference play on Thursday Jan. 3 vs. UT Martin at 5:15 pm.
