GAME 31
Eastern Illinois closes out the 2025-26 season on Saturday afternoon playing at SIUE. The Panthers lost on the road on Thursday at Lindenwood falling to 4-26 overall, 3-16 in the OVC. EIU has picked up two of its four wins this season on the road at Bellarmine in the non-conference season and at Tennessee State in OVC play. EIU has two of its losses this season in overtime in conference play. The OVC season will end at SIUE which is playing to try and lock up a spot in the OVC Tournament on the final day of action. The Cougars are 14-15 overall, 7-12 in the OVC.Â
PANTHERS CRACK SCHOOL SINGLE SEASON TOP TEN
Eastern Illinois picked up four more team blocks on Thursday at Lindenwood as the Panthers cracked the EIU single season Top Ten for blocks in a season. The Panthers current total of 107 is tied for ninth on the school's top ten list with the 1980-81 team. EIU is averaging 3.57 blocks per game which leads the OVC this season. The EIU school record for blocks is 142 set in 2014-15. By comparison last year's EIU team posted 115 team blocked shots with that total ranking sixth on the Panthers all-time chart.Â
DESROCHES SUCCESSFUL AT THE LINE
A game after getting to the line eleven times and knocking down ten of them,
Sydney-James Desroches failed to get to the stripe in Thursday's loss at Lindenwood. The junior did finish with ten points for her tenth double figure performance this season with nine of those taking place in OVC games. Desroches has two double-doubles this season against Tennessee State and Little Rock. She missed six weeks of the early season with a broken wrist and did not play in the Panthers OVC opener with SIUE.Â
STOLLER LEADS PANTHERS AGAIN
Ava Stoller scored 12 points on Thursday night at Lindenwood to finish as one of three Panthers in double figures as the junior guard was EIU's top point producer in the game. It marked the 13th time this season Stoller has led EIU in scoring in a game. She was 3-for-3 at the free throw line to inch her season free throw percentage up to 89.5 percent, second in the OVC. Stoller has five 20-point games this season with a high of 25 in early November at Purdue and her latest 20-point game on Feb. 19 against Morehead State. Â
