NOTES TO KNOW
• Eastern Illinois will be wearing an all White jersey and pant combination this Saturday as the Panthers are encouraging EIU fans to wear White to the home opener.  This will be the third different uniform combination of the season in three games for the Panthers.

•  Eastern Illinois will be playing its fifth home opener under head coach Kim Dameron.  The Panthers are 0-4 in their previous home openers.  At home under Coach Dameron the Panthers are 11-9 in four seasons.  EIU's last win in a home opener was Sept. 14, 2013 when the Panthers beat Illinois State, 57-24.

• Eastern Illinois home opener will be televised on ESPN+ as the Ohio Valley Conference announced in late August that the league's streaming package would be moving to the new ESPN digital offering during the football season.   ESPN+ is a paid service and is available for $4.99 per month or on a year-long subscription.  Fans may sign up for a free trial at www.espn.com/watch/espnplus

Alexander Hollins continues to catch passes for the EIU offense as he hauled in seven passes for 74 yards on Saturday at Illinois State.  Hollins ranks eighth in the FCS in receptions this season and 22nd in receiving yards.  He is sixth in the FCS in receiving touchdowns after hauling in three in the opener at Arkansas.   Hollins needs 105 yards to become the 31st player in school history with 1,000 career receiving yards.  He has five career 100 yard games including 127 yards at Arkansas.

THE SERIES
• Eastern Illinois and Indiana State will be meeting for the 85th time this Saturday when the Panthers host the Sycamores for the home opener at O'Brien Field.  EIU and ISU renewed their long time rivalry last season in Terre Haute after an eight-year hiatus.  Mitch Kimble hit Dennis Turner for a 15-yard touchdown pass with three seconds remaining to give EIU a 22-20 victory.  EIU holds a 43-37-4 all-time series lead having won six straight in the series.  The schools first met in 1902.  Indiana State's last win in the series was in 2004, a 33-30 overtime win at O'Brien Field.
