RESULTS
The Eastern Illinois University men's and women's track and field team came out of the gate ready to compete at today's season and home opener against Illinois State, Western Illinois, and Bradley.Â

The Panthers had five first-place finishers, four from the men's side and one from the women's side.
Men's Top Performers
On the track, the Panthers were led by Damian clay with a first-place finish in the 400-meters with a time of 50.36. Anthony Bello started his season off with a bang with a time of 7.04 to take the win in the 60-meter dash.
In the men's 600-meters James Allen came in first with a time of 1:22.57. In the 60-meter hurdles freshman Stenoree placed second with a time of 8.59 in his college opener only .01 seconds off of the win.
In the field, Joe Smith picked up right where he left off last season in the triple jump winning with a leap of 48-2 3/4 winning by over three feet. Smith placed second in the long jump with a jump of 22-5.
In the men's weight throw freshman Bradley Olysav placed third with a throw of 47-5.
Women's Top Performers
On the track, Vivica Coleman placed first in the 200-meters with a time of 26.02. Coleman placed second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.78. In the 60-meter hurdles, Shanisa Stinson placed third with a time of 9.07.
In the field,
Taylor Wright placed second in the long jump with a jump of 18-0 1/2 while
Shanisa Stinson placed third with a leap of 17-6 1/4. In the weight throw Makenna Wilson placed third with a throw of 56-3 1/4.

EIU's 2019-20 indoor track and field season continues with the EIU John Craft Invite on Saturday (Jan 18) inside the Lantz Fieldhouse.
