CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois women's soccer played its second of three exhibition matches on Friday afternoon with the Panthers picking up a 1-1 draw with Northern Illinois.

EIU wraps up exhibition play on Sunday at 1 p.m. against Evansville at Lakeside Field before opening the regular season on Aug. 23 at Ball State.

The Panthers had a chance to jump on the board midway through the first half as they drew a penalty kick during an attack in the goal box. NIU goalkeeper Julia Lentz made the save on the penalty shot, one four she finished with on the day.

EIU was able to break through with eight minutes remaining in the first half as
Lexi Ketterhagen took a pass from
Nicoletta Anuci and scored on the shot to the lower right hand corner of the net in the 37th minute.

EIU starting goalkeeper
Sara Teteak played the first half making two saves for EIU. Sophomore
Daniela Bermeo played the second half.

NIU was able to even the match with a goal in the 80th minute as Trudy Quidzinski send a long pass into the attack zone that Kelsey Chope settled and floated high into the goal for the score.

EIU tallied 11 shots on the day with five on goal. NIU had six shots with three on goal.
