CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois women's soccer wrapped up its exhibition season on Sunday afternoon with a 2-1 win over Evansville as the Panthers posted a 1-1-1 record during three exhibition contests this fall. The Panthers play their regular season opener on Friday at Ball State.
For the second straight match EIU was able to draw an early penalty kick chance as a foul was called on Evansville in the goal box in the opening ten minutes.
Itxaso Aguero stepped into the box and knocked home the opportunity to put the Panthers on the board in the 7th minute.
EIU finished with a 6-5 shots advantage in the match with four shots on goal. The Purple Aces had two shots on goal for the match.
Evansville came out with an aggressive attack to open the second half with two early shots. EIU was able to counter and put an insurance goal on the board in the 60th minute.

Pilar Barrio on a breakaway chance and Barrio took the cross and was able to beat the keeper to put EIU up 2-0.
Evansville goalkeeper Michaela Till finished with two saves on the day. EIU split time in the goal between
Sara Teteak and
Daniela Bermeo. Bermeo finished with one save in the second half.
Evansville was able to get on the board in the 63rd minute as Emily Omson collected a pass from Emily Olson and hit a hit shot over the keepers head to find the back of the net.
