Final Results
CHARLESTON, Ill. – The Eastern Illinois men's & women's track and field teams had a good performance at the Notre Dame Meyo Invite.
The men were led by Dustin Hatfield who placed first in the 3000 with a time of 8:14.06, which is a personal best time. With that race, he jumps up to number seven on the EIU All-time list and number one in the OVC.
Joe Smith was the only other Panther to podium. Smith placed third in the triple jump with a jump of 50-0. This is the second time Smith has hit 50ft on the season. Jamie Marcos placed sixth in the 5000 with a time of 14:36.33, which moves him into first in the OVC standing.
Shandall Thomas was the last men's Panther to place in the top ten. He finished ninth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.92.
The women only had two top-ten finishes at the Meyo Invite. Lindsey Carlson was the top finisher for the women with a sixth-place finish in the 5000 with a time of 17:14.73. With this race, she moves up to number five on the EIU All-time list and number one in the OVC.
Grace Rowan was the other lady Panther to place in the top-ten. Rowan finished in eighth place in the mile with a time of 4:53.89. With that time she moves up to number four on the EIU All-time list and stays at number one in the OVC
The Panthers are back in action Friday (Feb. 14) for the Grand Valley State Meet in Allendale, Mich.
