KILLEN, Ala. – Preston Smith was able to battle some windy conditions on the final day of competition at the TVA Community Credit Union Invitational hosted by North Alabama, as the Panthers golfer carded one of the better rounds of the day with a two-over par 74 to finish in 18th place at the 54-hole event.
 
Smith shot a total of 227 with his solid closing round in the event played a the Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club.  The closing round of 74 was the seventh best score of the final round that saw only one player in the field shoot below par on the final 18 holes.
 
Ben Lanman was EIU's second best golfer with a 54-hole score of 236 to tie for 37th.  Lanman had his best round in the second round on Monday afternoon with a 76.
 
Pierce Allord was tied for 53rd with a 54-hole score of 241 with his best round of 76 coming during the Monday afternoon round.
 
Trey Oswald and Keegan Gowin closed out the EIU golfers in the tournament.  Oswald shot 77 on the final round to move up to 59th with a score of 244.  Gowin's best round was 79 on Monday afternoon as he finished 61st with a score of 247.
 
Austin Vukovits of Mississippi State was the individual medalist while host North Alabama won the team title.
