Butler Benbow Men's Tournament Results
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –
Ben Lanman was the top finisher for the Eastern Illinois men's golf team as the Panthers opened the spring season at the Butler Benbow Spring Invitational.
The Panthers placed fifth at the 36-hole, two-day event played at the Jacksonville Beach Golf Club.
Lanman finished in a tie for 10th after carding a round of 73 on Tuesday, the best round of the tournament for the Panthers. Lanman finished with a 36-hole total of 148.
Keegan Gowin was 23rd in the event with a 36-hole total of 156.
Preston Smith, who was EIU's day one leader, finished tied for 24th with a total of 157.
Pierce Allord rounded out the EIU scored golfers with a 36-hole total of 158 to tie for 28th.
Grant Mascal was EIU's final golfer finishing 37th with a 36-hole score of 167.
Kasey Lilly of Purdue Fort Wayne was the individual medalist while the Mastodons also took home first place team honors.
EIU will return to action later this weekend at the Saint Francis Spring Invite in Daytona Beach.
