COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech came out firing on all cylinders on Thursday night and led from start to finish during a 70-49 win over Eastern Illinois at the Eblen Center.
TTU opened the game with a 16-3 run as they connected on baskets on nine of eleven possessions and led 23-7 with just under 12 minutes to play in the opening half. Â
TTU would lead by 19 points in the first half with the Panthers cutting the lead down to eight points on a
Cameron Haffner 3-pointer with 1:53 left to play in the first half. Haffner finished as EIU's leading scorer in the game with eight points as the Panthers didn't have a double figure scorer for the first time this season.
TTU led 37-26 at the half shooting 53 percent in the half.  They finished the game shooting 50 percent from the field.
The Golden Eagles would use a 10-0 run early in the second half to stretch the lead out to 58-36. Jaylen Sebree led TTU with 15 points. Brett Thompson added 11 points off the bench.
EIU was held to 37 percent shooting in the game and held a rebounding edge for most the game before the teams finished tied at 33 rebounds each.Â
Yaakema Rose Jr., led EIU with eight rebounds.
TTU improved to 5-11 overall, 1-2 in the OVC. EIU fell to 6-10 overall, 2-1 in the OVC.
