GAME 8
Eastern Illinois wraps up a string of five games on the road this Tuesday as they travel for an in-state contest at Bradley. EIU held early leads in all three games of its Thanksgiving Holiday Break travel culminating with an overtime loss last Tuesday at New Mexico. On Saturday it was a cold shooting fourth quarter that hurt the Panthers as they lost at Loyola-Chicago falling to 1-6 on the season. Following the trip to Bradley, EIU plays two of its next three at home. Bradley is 3-4 on the year following a home win over OVC member Lindenwood on Saturday night.
McGLONE CHURNS OUT ANOTHER DOUBLE-DOUBLE
Macy McGlone has been on a tear over the last five games posting five straight double figure scoring games with double-doubles in three straight contests. Over those three contests McGlone has averaged 19.3 points and 12.0 rebounds per contest with highs of 29 points and 14 rebounds in the overtime loss at New Mexico. The junior forward now has seven career double-doubles and six 20-plus point scoring games. She currently leads the OVC in both rebounding (9.4 rpg) and field goal percentage (54 pct) while sitting in third in the conference in scoring (15.4 ppg) and blocked shots (1.1 per game). She has scored in double figures in six of seven games this season.
MEIDEL HELPS PANTHERS CRASH THE GLASS
Eastern Illinois finished with a 45 to 32 rebound advantage on Saturday at Loyola-Chicago marking only the second time this season EIU has finished with a rebounding edge. Part of that success on Saturday was the play of senior
Emily Meidel who pulled down a career high seven rebounds including two on the offensive glass. Meidel has 11 rebounds in the last two games after just one rebound in her first five appearances off the bench this season. She also scored her first points of the year at Loyola.
