Panthers Host Golden Eagles For 2022-23 Home Finale
Eastern Illinois women's basketball tries to go into the OVC Tournament on a high note, as the Panthers will host the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles on senior day. A win would secure EIU's first season with an undefeated home conference record since the 2009-10 season. Tipoff is set for 1 PM CT.

EIU snapped their three-game losing streak with a 60-49 home win over Morehead State. Â
Lariah Washington led the way with 21 points and nine rebounds while
Macy McGlone and
Taris Thornton each had 15 points and eight rebounds.Â

Seniors To Watch
A native of Goshen, Ind.,
Morgan Litwiller came to EIU in 2019. She has appeared in 101 career games, including 73 starts. Throughout her EIU career, she has served as a deadly threat from the three-point line as her 131 career three-pointers ranks eighth in school history. Last season, she tied an EIU school record with seven made three-pointers at UT Martin, a mark that she matched this season at Tennessee State. Her 35.2 three-point field goal percentage ranks seventh in school history. She has 33 double digit scoring games in her career, including 12 this season.

A native of St. Cloud, Minn.,
Lariah Washington came to EIU in 2019. She has appeared in 114 career games, starting in all but one. She made her presence known at EIU immediately, earning four OVC freshman of the week honors in her first season. She has earned three OVC Player of the Week honors this season. With 1,630 career points, she ranks sixth in school history. Her 610 made field goals rank seventh in school history, her 310 made free throws rank ninth in school history, and her 79.1 career free throw percentage ranks eighth in school history.  This season, her 16.8 points per game lead the OVC and her 176 made field goals also lead the OVC. She has 86 double digit scoring games in her career, including 24 performances of 20+ points, and five career double-doubles.
Scouting The Golden Eagles
Tennessee Tech is led by eighth-year head coach Kim Rosamond. The Golden Eagles are currently 18-9 overall and 12-5 in OVC play with their last two contests resulting in a 74-63 home win over UT Martin and a 78-57 road win over Southern Indiana. Tennessee Tech utilizes a balanced offensive attack, as they have seven players who average at least 6.2 points per game. The team is led on the court by senior guard Maaliya Owens who averages 15 points per game. Senior guard Jada Guinn averages 9.9 points per game and a team-high four assists per game. Junior forward Anna Walker averages 9.5 points per game and freshman guard Reghan Grimes averages 8.7 points per game and a team-high 5.6 rebounds per game.
Series History
Saturday will mark the 51st all-time meeting between the Panthers and the Golden Eagles. Tennessee Tech leads the all-time series 32-18. EIU beat TTU 67-62 in Cookeville earlier this season on January 5 to snap an eight-game losing streak in the series.

EIU will play their first game of the OVC Tournament in Evansville, Ind. on Friday, March 3 at approximately 3:30 PM. The Panthers will open play in the semifinal round against an opponent that is currently TBD.
