Tournament Results
MILL SPRING, N.C. – Eastern Illinois women's golf opened the spring season over the weekend playing at the Gardner-Webb Bright Creek Classic. The Panthers posted a sixth place finish during the 54-hole event played at the Par 72, 6,069 Bright Creek Golf Club.
Ashley Chen was the Panthers top finisher in a tie for 25th. The freshman posted a team-best round of 80 during her second round as she shot 256 for the weekend.
Ava Boehm was second for EIU with a round of 260 as she was tied for 29th. Boehm closed with back-to-back rounds of 86.
Isabel Spanburg,
Katelind Winterland and
Lindsey Hastings wrapped up the EIU scored golfers in the event. Spanburg was 32nd with a score of 283. Winterland was 33rd with a score of 285. Hastings was 34th at 287.
Haley Hoagland traveled and played as an individual in the tournament for EIU placing 35th with a score of 320.
Neza Siftar of host Gardner-Webb was the individual medalist. Presbyterian College won the team title edging Evansville by one stroke and the host Bulldogs by two strokes.
