BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Another week complete in the basketball season and another Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week honor for Eastern Illinois men's basketball as
Cameron Haffner was named the co-Freshman of the Week following his performance last week.

In two games last week Haffner averaged 11.5 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists per game while hitting 41 percent from the field. He tied for the team lead in scoring at Lindenwood on Thursday with 11 points including a trio of 3-pointers. He added five assists and three rebounds. He followed that on Saturday with 12 points, nine rebounds and three assists against Tennessee State. He currently leads EIU in 3-pointers made and ranks ninth in the OVC in 3-point percentage at 40.6 percent. This marks his second-straight OVC Freshman of the Week award.Â

EIU has now had players win OVC Freshman of the Week honors seven times with Haffner and
Kyle Thomas each winning the award three times while
Kyle Carlesimo is a one-time award winner.

EIU returns to action on Thursday night hosting UT Martin at 7:30 p.m. The game is EIU Student Appreciation Night with T-shirts, Pizza, Popcorn and other prizes given to EIU students during the doubleheader. All EIU students encouraged to wear Black as both EIU teams will be wearing their black uniforms.Â
