BATAVIA, Ohio –
Keegan Gowin was three over par after the opening 36 holes on Monday and finished final round play tied for 27th to lead Eastern Illinois men's golf at The Jewell hosted by Northern Kentucky.
Gowin shot 75 on Tuesday to close with a 54-hole score of 220 at the Elks Run Golf Club.
Ben Lanman shot a final round of 73 on Tuesday to finish tied for 45th with a score of 224.
Pierce Allord was one shot behind with a total of 225 opening with rounds of 74 on Monday before a final round 77. He would tie for 48th.
Juan Pablo Hernandez and
Preston Smith both tied for 74th with scores of 237. Hernandez had a low round of 75 in the opening round on Monday.  Smith's best round was 77 on Monday afternoon.
Trey Oswald played as an individual for EIU placing 79th with a score of 242.
Host Northern Kentucky won the team title with Zackary Beard of NKU and Ballard Harris of Bellarmine both tied for individual medalist honors.
EIU will return to action on Sunday at the Wright State Spring Invite before closing the season later this month at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships.
