TOURNAMENT RESULTS
SPRINGBORO, Ohio – Eastern Illinois men's golf had a team score of 307 on Monday morning during the final 18 holes of play at the Wright State Spring Invite to finish 9th at the event.
Keegan Gowin shot a team-best round of 73 to finish with a 54-total of 234 and tied for 31st. The tournament was a play six, count four format with
Juan Pablo Hernandez carding the second best round of the day for EIU. He would shoot 74 and finish tied for 55th with a score of 242.
Preston Smith was EIU's second best overall finisher at the event closing Monday with a round of 77 which gave him a score of 238 to tie for 43rd.
Trey Oswald was EIU's leader after the opening 36 holes on Sunday with back-to-back rounds of 78. He shot 84 on Monday to finish with a score of 240 and tied for 51st.
Ben Lanman shot 244 for the week to place tied for 59th while
Pierce Allord shot 246 for the week to tie for 63rd.
Host Wright State would win the team title and Mikkell Mathiesen of Wright State won individual medalist honors winning the title on the fifth hole of the playoff.
EIU returns to action next weekend at the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament at Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau, Mo., on April 23-26.
