Eastern Illinois women's golf opened its 2023 fall season with
Ava Boehm pacing the Panthers team with a tie for 44th after closing with rounds of 74 and 75 at the Weibring Golf Club during the Illinois State Redbird Fall Invite.
EIU finished 15th as a team with Boehm shooting a 54-hole total of 229 to lead the group of five EIU golfers. The round of 74 came on Sunday afternoon with the closing round of 75 on Monday.
Mya Mirocha was EIU's second best golfer for the weekend closing with a round of 78 on Monday to climb into a tie for 74th. She had a 54-hole score of 239.
Ashley Chen was 83rd with a score of 245 after a low round of 79 on Monday.
Katelind Winterland closed out EIU's scored golfers in 89th with a score of 250.
Meera Upadhyay was EIU's fifth golfer in the field but withdrew from Monday's tournament action. She had a low round of 80 in her first collegiate round on Sunday.
Grace Aromando of Bradley was the individual medalist winning the event by four strokes over Illinois State's Jinyoung Yun. Bradley would also win the team title edging the host Redbirds by one stroke.
