GAME 8
Eastern Illinois looks for its third straight home win when the Panthers host Indiana State on Friday evening at Groniger Arena.  EIU is 2-5 on the season with both wins coming at home against Loyola Chicago and IU Indy on Thanksgiving Week.  On Tuesday night EIU had its two game win streak snapped with a road loss at No. 12 Kansas State, the second loss of the season for the Panthers to a nationally ranked team.  Following the game with Indiana State, EIU wraps up non-conference play on Dec. 15 at No. 19 Iowa State.  Indiana State also enters at 2-5 on the season following a loss at Marquette.  One of the Sycamores two wins this year is over an OVC member.

FLOWERS STEAL STREAK CONTINUES
Kiyley Flowers had two steals on Tuesday at Kansas State as the transfer guard currently ranks fourth in the NCAA in total steals (29) and second in steals per game (4.1).  While playing the last two seasons at OVC rival Southeast Missouri, Flowers led the conference in steals each season and once again holds that conference early season lead.  Flowers had at least one steal in each game last season and has a streak of 43 consecutive games with at least one steal with her last game without a steal coming on Feb. 4, 2023 against Tennessee Tech.  At Kansas State she added a season high nine points while passing out two assists and pulling down four rebounds.  Flowers ranks in the OVC Top Ten in steals, assists and assist-to-turnover ratio.

BENCH CONTRIBUTES AT NO. 12 KANSAS STATE
Eastern Illinois received 60 percent of its scoring on Tuesday night at Kansas State from its bench as the Panthers scored 26 points between five players.  Tiny Lewis and Ellie Colson led the way with six points each off the bench with a total of six players seeing time in that role.  This season EIU has had good bench production with that unit averaging 23.3 points per game for the season with a high point total of 30 in the home win over IU Indy.  All seven games this season have seen the Panthers bench produce 20 or more points.  Compare that to last season when EIU averaged 11.7 points per game from its bench with a high total of 26 points against SIUE.  EIU had just five games last season where the team scored 20 or more points with its bench while recording 14 games with single digit bench production.  This season EIU has had four players score in double figures off the bench in games.
