TUNICA, Miss. – Eastern Illinois women's golf is just four strokes out of a tie for third place as the Panthers opened the 2024 Ohio Valley Conference Championship sitting in a sixth-place following a round of 329.
Little Rock opened as the team leader after 18 holes at the Tunica National Golf Course shooting a team score of 302. Morehead State is second at 311 followed by Lindenwood and Western Illinois tied for third with scores of 325.
The Trojans Anna Dawson was the lone player in the field to card an even round on Sunday finishing with a 72 and two-stroke lead over teammate Eleonore Aernouts.
Mya Mirocha and
Ashley Chen both shot rounds of 81 to lead EIU as the two players are tied for 15th in the field.
Meera Upadhyay was EIU's third scored golfer in the field with a round of 82.
Lindsey Hastings and
Ava Boehm both shot rounds of 85 to tie as the final EIU golfers in team scoring as both players sit tied for 34th.
Competition continues with round two on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
