Eastern Illinois women's golf returns to the links for its third tournament of the fall season as they play Monday and Tuesday at The Velvet hosted by Murray State.
 
The 54-hole event will take place at the Paducah Country Club playing as a Par 72, 6,209 yard layout.
 
Teams scheduled to compete in the two-day event include host Murray State, Eastern Illinois, Alabama State, Austin Peay, Belmont, Cumberlands, Indian Hills CC, Loyola Chicago, UNC Asheville, Southern Illinois, Southern Indiana, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, Troy, UAB and West Georgia.
 
At last week's Total Athlete Collegiate, junior Meera Upadhyay set the 54-hole school scoring record carding a total of 227 which was two-shots better than the previous mark held by three different players.   During the tournament Upadhyay had a round of 71 which was tied for the second best round in school history.   On the season she leads the Panthers with a 78.5 season stroke average through two events.
 
Mya Mirocha had a round in the 70's shooting at 79 at the Total Athlete Collegiate while newcomer Sophia Miller had the best EIU round at the season opening Kansas Intercollegiate with an 80.
