Football Receiving Votes In Both FCS Top 25 Polls

Panthers coming off 27-20 home win

STATS Perform Top 25 Media Poll  /  AFCA FCS Coaches Top 25 Poll

Eastern Illinois football continues to be among the teams also receiving votes as both FCS Top 25 rankings were released on Monday.
 
EIU is coming off a 27-20 win over Indiana State in the Panthers home opener improving the team to 1-1 on the season.  EIU faces its second Big Ten opponent this season with a 6:30 pm Saturday night game at Northwestern.
 
The Panthers were the seventh team also receiving votes in the STATS Perform Media Top 25 poll while ranking as the eighth team also receiving votes in the FCS Coaches Top 25 poll.
 
The top three teams in both polls remained unchanged from last week with South Dakota State ranked first, North Dakota State second and Montana State third.
 
In the Stats Perform poll Idaho jumped up to fourth followed by Villanova, South Dakota, Central Arkansas, Montana, Southern Illinois and North Dakota in the top ten.  
 
Sacramento State was 11th with Incarnate Word, William & Mary, Chattanooga, UC Davis, Tarleton State, UAlbany, Illinois State, Lafayette, Weber State, Youngstown State, Elon, Mercer, Nicholls and Abilene Christian rounding out the Top 25 in the media poll.
 
In the FCS Coaches poll Sacramento State was 11th with UC Davis, William & Mary, Incarnate Word, UAlbany, Chattanooga, Tarleton State, Lafayette, Illinois State, Youngstown State, Northern Iowa, Florida A&M, Nicholls, Mercer and Weber State closing out the Top 25.
 
Southeast Missouri from the Big South/OVC was the first team also receiving votes in both polls with EIU, UT Martin and Charleston Southern also receiving votes across the two polls.
