Eastern Illinois men's and women's cross country return to action this Friday competing in their final regular season meet of the season at the Bradley 'Pink' Classic.
 
On the men's side Michael Atkins has been the Panthers top performer this season placing first among EIU runners in three of the four meets.  Atkins currently has the 10th best 8K time in the OVC this season at 24:45.8 at the Louisville XC Classic. 
 
Brad Ahrens was EIU's top finisher in the season opening SEMO Redhawk Invitational.   Ahrens and Tyler Dillon have joined Atkins as Panthers that have finished in the top five team scoring in each race this season.
 
On the women's side Brenda Torres has been named the OVC Runner of the Week twice as she has been EIU's top finisher in all four meets.  She has the third best 6K time in the OVC currently with a time of 21:33.9 at the EIU Walt Crawford.
 
The Panthers currently hold five of the top nine 6K times in the OVC this season with Torres, Sophie Krueger, Rylea Borgic, Avery Braker and Olivia Esche all ranked. 
 
EIU will have some runners in the early White Division Races followed by the main teams competing in the Red Division races at 1:30 pm for men and 2:15 pm for women.
 
EIU hosts the Ohio Valley Conference Championship this year on Friday, October 31 at the Tom Woodall Panther Trail.
