Eastern Illinois junior Brenda Torres was named the Ohio Valley Conference Female Runner of the Week for the third time this season following her performance at the Bradley 'Pink' Classic last Friday.
 
Torres posted a personal best in the 6K race as she covered the Newman Golf Club course in a time of 21:13.19 which shaved seven seconds off her previous best 6K time set at last year's NCAA Regional.  It ranks as the third fastest 6K in school history.
 
Torres was once again EIU's top competitor in the field which included several regionally ranked teams.  She finished 24th in the Red Division Race.
 
EIU returns to action on Friday, October 31 hosting the 2025 Ohio Valley Conference Championships at the Tom Woodall EIU Panther Trail.  The men's 8K will run at 9 am followed by the women's 6K at 10 am.
