Eastern Illinois cross country returns to action this Saturday as the Panthers compete in the Indiana State John McNichols Invite.
 
The men's race will begin at 8 am (CT) covering the 8K LaVern Gibson Cross Country Championship Course.  The women's 6K event will follow at 8:45 am (CT).
 
EIU won its home Walt Crawford Open during the Panthers last meet which included several other OVC teams in the field.
 
Brenda Torres won the women's 6K race as she was named the OVC Runner of the Week.  EIU would finish 1-2-3 in the race with Sophie Krueger and Rylea Borgic following Torres across the line.
 
On the men's side Michael Atkins was the top EIU finisher in the 8K event in the event placing fifth.  Cale Smith crossed in seventh and EIU sealed the team win with runners finishing 9th through 13th.
