Eastern Illinois women's tennis sent senior
Luisa Renovales Salazar out on a high note as the Panthers picked up a 4-3 senior day win over SIUE to finish the conference schedule at 3-3.

EIU returns to action on Thursday at the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament in St. Louis with the bracket to be released on Sunday evening.

SIUE jumped out a 1-0 lead in the match winning the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.  The No. 1 match was left unfinished.

The deciding point in the match then came down to No. 1 singles with
Aleyla Wooten outlasting Amelia Gorman to pick up a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 win to clinch the overall win for EIU.

The Panthers added their first two points in singles play by retirement.Â

Luisa Renovales Salazar posted the first EIU point winning at No. 5 singles as she was leading the match 2-1 in the opening set when Paige Duncan retired for the Cougars.

Ornella Lomenzo was leading Margaux Guibal Britt 5-3 in the opening set when she picked up her fourth straight singles win by retirement for the Panthers second point of the match.

SIUE won at No. 6 and No. 4 singles to go up 3-2 in the overall match.

Charleigh Fay evened the score at 3-3 with a three-set win at No. 3 singles beating Payton Tomichek 4-6, 7-5, 6-0 setting the stage for Wooten's final match victory.
