The EIU men's and women's track and field squads are back in action after the return from winter break. The Panthers will host the EIU John Craft Invite for the lone home meet. Eastern Illinois will face off against Illinois College, Milliken University, St. Mary's of the Woods College, Brescia University, McKendree University, St. Louis Pharmacy UHSP, Wash U, and Greenville University. The meet will begin at 10:00 AM. 



Men's Track:  

The men's team is coming off a 3rd place finish at the ISU John Gartland Invitational in Terre Haute, Indiana. The Panthers were highlighted by multiple PRs, including Maliek Bush, who set a new facility and meet record in the Men's Hept 60m with a 7.01 mark. Bush would then earn gold in the Men's Heptathlon Long Jump, with a winning result of 6.86m. Enoch Appiah-Kubi set a personal record in the men's triple jump with a 14.47 mark. Zac Stout found the podium with a second-place finish in the men's heptathlon pole vault with a score of 4.30m.  



Women's Track:  

The last time out, the women's team earned a 4th place finish at the ISU John Gartland Invitational. Abby Venhaus led the way, placing third and setting a new personal record with a time of 7.67, ranking 8th in EIU history. Analena Peterson had a freshman debut to remember, earning gold in the women's 200m with a final time of 25.33. On the second day of the John Gartland Invitational, Angela Dobbins placed third in the women's pentathlon shot put with a throw of 10.43m.  



OVC Top Three Leaderboards:  

Abby Venhaus – 1st in the 60 meters (7.60) and 3rd in the Long Jump (5.60m) 

Analena Peterson – 1st in the 200 meters (24.95)  

Marco Reynolds – 3rd in Shot Put (13.04m) 

Mikaila Ek – 3rd in Pole Vault (3.61m) 

Maliek Bush – 3rd in the Long Jump (6.86m) 

Sam Bradbury – 2nd in Shot Put (17.16m) 

Zac Stout – 1st in the Heptathlon (4653 points)
