EIU Track & Field will travel one more time before the OVC Championships next week in Louisville, Kentucky. The Panthers will take a short trip to Champaign, Illinois, for the University of Illinois Last Chance meet on Friday, February 20th, at 11:00 a.m.
Last Time Out
Men's Track:
In the 60m dash, EIU recorded three top ten finishes, including Daniel Lacy, Shawn Lacy in 6th, and Ayden Cothern in 5th with a time of 6.90.
Maxwell St. Clair earned a silver medal in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.15, which is a personal best.
Cothern followed his 60m performance with 6th place in the 200m with a time of 21.60, which ranks 3rd in the OVC.
Daniel Lacy earned a seasonal best in the 400m, finishing fourth with a time of 48.0 seconds, ranking 2nd in the OVC.
Benjamin Roedl Machi Nelson went three and four in the high jump. Both scored a 2.00m mark. Then, Nelson recorded a personal best in the long jump with a 7.24m mark, which ranks 4th in the OVC.
Women's Track:
Analena Peterson kicked off the meet for the Panthers with a 6th place finish in the 60m dash with a time of 7.70. Peterson then finished fourth in the 200m with a time of 24.26.
Ashlyn Denney scored a PR in the 800m with a time of 2:10.51, which is the 2nd fastest in the OVC. Denney was awarded an OVC notable performance for her efforts.
Angela Dobbins earned a PR in the long jump, placing 7th with a 5.64m mark. Marco Reynolds placed 5th with a personal record in the shot put, scoring a 13.96m mark, ranking 2nd in the OVC.
Abby Venhaus earned a gold medal in the triple jump with a 12.07m mark. Venhaus was also awarded an OVC notable performance for her efforts.
Marco Reynolds
Marco Reynolds was named the OVC Freshman Female Athlete of the Week for her impressive performance at the DePaul Alumni Classic. The rookie earned her first weekly OVC award in her career. Reynolds is a freshman from Normal, Ill. And attended high school at Normal Community. Last time out, she placed 5th in the women's shot put with a score of 13.96m (45' 9.75"). Her score was a personal record and ranks 2nd in the OVC. She also competed in the weight throw, earning a score of 13.20m (43' 3.75").
