ON TAP: Eastern Illinois men's soccer continues its 2026 non-conference schedule this week as the Panthers travel to face Marshall. 

VICTORY MOMENTUM: Eastern Illinois enters the matchup with momentum after a strong offensive showing in its most recent contest, a 4-1 road victory over Chicago State. The Panthers scored three times in the opening half before adding another goal after the break to secure the win. 

AYLEO ATTACK: Marcos Ayelo led the offensive attack against the Cougars, scoring twice on five shots. Sergej Misic added a goal and an assist, while Keidin Green also found the back of the net. Shuto Ishikawa recorded an assist as EIU finished with four goals and two assists. 

UNDER CONTROL: The Panthers controlled the match from start to finish, finishing with a 22-7 advantage in shots and earning 12 corner kicks compared to one for Chicago State. 

ODAGIRI: Goalkeeper Kai Odagiri provided a strong presence in net, playing all 90 minutes and making four saves to earn his first victory of the season. Odagiri and the EIU defense limited Chicago State to just three shots in the second half. 

BUILDING OFFENSIVE: The Panthers will look to carry that offensive momentum into their matchup with Marshall while continuing to build toward the start of Ohio Valley Conference play. 

SERIES HISTORY: The meeting with Marshall marks another non-conference test for the Panthers as they continue their 2026 campaign.
