RICHMOND, Ky. -- The Eastern Illinois women's tennis squad dropped a 6-1 Ohio Valley Conference match at Eastern Kentucky on Friday.  With the loss, the Panthers fall to 9-4 overall and 2-2 in league play.

The Colonels of EKU not only picked up the doubles point by winning two of the three duo matches, but also captured five of six singles matches.

The lone Panther to win in singles play was junior Natalie Martin, who won a straight set victory at No. 2 Singles.  Freshman Cara Huck and senior Sandra Sasidharan teamed up to win at No. 2 Doubles.

“We'll need to bounce back quickly as we get right back at it on Sunday," said EIU head coach John Blackburn.  "I think everyone is looking forward to playing four consecutive home matches and I think we can use that to build some momentum.”

EIU returns to OVC action on Sunday afternoon, hosting Tennessee State.
