BELLEVILLE, Ill. -- After picking up an easy 6-0 victory over Austin Peay on Saturday, the Eastern Illinois women's tennis squad not only snapped a three-match losing streak, but also improved the team's chances of making the six-team Ohio Valley Conference tournament next weekend.

Prior to the match the squad honored Sandra Sasidharan, Stephanie Harmazy, and Natalie Martin as the three will finish their Panther careers this season.

"I think the ladies really played hard for our seniors today," said EIU head coach John Blackburn.  "Sandra, Steph, and Natalie are an amazing group that I've been honored to work with these last three years. We will try and keep things going tommorow against a good SEMO team."

Every single EIU player won in straight sets as the squad completely dominated Austin Peay in singles action.  Hayley Homburg blanked her opponent at No. 3 singles, while Stephanie Harmazy only allowed her opponent to pick up one game.  Natalie Martin and Cara Huck each picked up identical 6-1 set wins.

Due to time constraints doubles play was not held, as the match had already been decided.

The Panthers travel to Southeast Missouri on Sunday to finish league action.
