CHICAGO, Ill. -- Eastern Illinois men's and women's swimming squads dropped their respective road duals at Illinois-Chicago on Saturday afternoon, with the Panther men losing their first meet of the early season, 143-71, while the women lost their fourth straight, 153-52.
For the first time this season, no individual Panther or EIU relay squad from either side picked up a win in scoring races against the Flames, with the lone wins coming toward the end of the meet as UIC swam but did not score their events.
Several individuals finished with runner-up honors, however, including sophomore
John Wilson in the 50-Free, senior
Cody Showers in the 100-Butterfly, sophomore
Ken Tiltges in the 100-Free, and junior
Rich Waszak in the 100-Back for the men.
Junior
Morgan Roberts represented all EIU women with second place finish in the 1000-Free.
Also coming in second was the 200-Medley Relay foursome of Waszak, Matt O'Hagan, Showers, and Wilson.
The Panther men fell to 3-1 on the season with the tough loss, while the Eastern women will look to winning their first dual as both squads are set to return to the pool on Friday (Nov. 5) hosting Lincoln College in EIU's Padovan Pool. First splash is scheduled for 5 pm.
