CHARLESTON, Ill. --  Following a sweep of IUPUI on Friday afternoon, the Eastern Illinois men's and swimming squads came up short against visiting Missouri State on Saturday morning, dropping their respectively duals, 136-69 and 146-56.

With only one more dual meet on the slate, the Panther men and women fall to 6-2 and 3-5 on the season, while both Bears squads improve to 5-3.

In relay action, the foursome of Alyssa Lehman, Kelli Dicanio, Kate Paige, and Morgan Roberts got off to a nice start to the meet, as they won the opening 200-Medley Relay, out-pacing MSU in 1:52.52.

The EIU guys followed in kind, winning their own 200-Medley Relay as Rich Waszak, Matt O'Hagan, Cody Showers, and Colin McGill teamed up to splash past the Bears in 1:35.78.

Individually, junior Ken Tiltges earned new season best times and first place touches in both the 100-Free and 200-IM via 47.05 and 1:58.61 finishes, respectively.

Senior Cody Showers also topped his previous season-best time in the 50-Free en route to winning the sprint event in 21.76.

Megan Eshleman continued a fine weekend in the pool, as she touched first in the 500-Free for the second straight day.

Other top three finishers for the Panthers included Nathan Moritz and Paige each taking second in their respective 100-Fly races, as did Lehman in the 100-Back.

Dicanio also earned second place in her 100-Breast race, while the team of Tiltges, Showers, Mike Lacine and Mike Lehman also earned runner-up honors in the 200-Free Relay meet finale.

Meanwhile, Mary Lacine earned third place honors in the 200-IM, alongside Colin McGill in the 100-Back.

The Panthers will have a week off to prepare for the squad's regular-season and home finale, hosting Midwest rival Saint Louis at 11:30 am on Saturday (Feb. 5). At the meet, Eastern will honor the team's seven departing seniors -- Megan Eshleman, Ian Hoppie, Alyssa Lehman, Nathan Moritz, Sofia Pappanastos, Matt Scaliatine, and Cody Showers.
