PEORIA, Ill. - Junior
Erika Ramos set a school record in the women's 6K race on Friday afternoon as the Eastern Illinois men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up competition at the Bradley Classic.
Ramos posted a 6K time of 21:47.28 to set the school mark as she finished 11th overall. The women's team placed 10th at the meet scoring 226 points. Missouri won the women's meet with 65 points while Illinois State's Krista Deceault won individual honors with a time of 20:56.15.
Bradley LaRocque paced the EIU men's team to a 6th place team finish as the senior placed 12th with a time of 25:14.7. EIU scored 166 points while Drake won team honors with 76 points. Butler's Ross Clarke was the men's winner at the 8K distance with a time of 24:29.9.
Following LaRocque on the men's side scoring points were
Bryce Basting in 22nd at 25:30.8,
Matt Feldhake was 40th at 25:56.1,
Graham Morris was 47th at 26:08.2 and
Danny Delaney was 48th at 26:09.
Jordan Jones and
William Roth rounded out the top seven EIU men's competitors. Jones was 62nd at 26:21.5 and Roth was 64th at 26:22.
Olivia Klaus was the EIU women's second finisher at 22:32.62 to place 47th while
Caitlin Napoleoni was just behind in 48th at 22:33.29.
Britney Whitehead and Gabriela Duenas rounded out the five scoring EIU runners. Whitehead was 64th at 22:51.50 and Duenas was 71st at 22:55.81.
Megan Gingerich and
Emily Pedziwiatr completed the top seven EIU women's competitors. Gingerich was 85th at 23:08.11 and Pedziwiatr was 97th at 23:24.39.
EIU will return to action in two weeks at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships.
