Eastern Illinois cross country wrapped up action on Saturday morning at the STAMS Louisville Cross Country Classic.

The EIU women placed 17th in the Gold Division 5K race while the men placed 24th in the Gold Division 8K race.

Brenda Torres was EIU's top women's finisher placing 28th covering the 5K course in a time of 17:29.7. Â
Rylea Borgic and
Sophie Krueger both finished in the Top 100 in a competitive field filled with several regionally ranked teams. Borgic was 62nd with a time of 18:00. Krueger was 91st with a time of 18:13.5.

Freshmen
Avery Braker and
Ashlyn Denney rounded out the EIU scored top five runners. Braker was 141st with a time of 18:46.1. Denney was 182nd with a time of 19:11.0.Â
Anna Bieber (184th / 19:12.0) and
Olivia Esche (195th / 19:17.6) were EIU's sixth and seventh runners to finish.

On the men's side
Michael Atkins led EIU placing 52nd with a time of 24:45.8. He was joined in the Top 100 by
Tyler Dillon with a time of 25:16.8 placing 93rd.Â
Mason Stoeger,
Aidan Gonzalez and
Brad Ahrens closed out the five Panthers scored runners. Stoeger was 144th with a time of 25:36.2. Gonzalez was 160th with a time of 25:41.8. Ahrens was 162nd with a time of 25:43.0. Â
Cale Smith (193rd / 25:59.7) and
Jiberil Lesman (206th / 26:06.7) were the sixth and seventh EIU runners to finish.

Middle Tennessee was the men's Gold Division race winner with Jason Bowers of East Tennessee the individual champion.
Â
West Virginia was the women's Gold Division race winner with Ceili McCabe running unattached the individual champion. Silvia Jelego of Clemson was the top collegiate finisher in second place.
