MANHATTAN, Kan. – Eastern Illinois women's rugby ran over Kansas State, 121-0, in a Saturday afternoon road contest as the Panthers shattered numerous records in the process to improve to 3-2 on the season.

The 121 point tally, behind a new school-record 21 trys, nearly eclipsed the previous high of 124 points earned versus Michigan back in 2006, as the contest was played utilizing rugby ten-on-ten personnel numbers.

Sophomore Madison Kissner paced the Panther offense with 10 trys for 50 points, off 12 runs over 20-yards, all of which set new single-game school marks.

Classmate Carissa Burge dished out a team-high eight assists, topping the previous school mark of seven in the process.  Plus she added four trys of her own, as Kelsey Jackson assisted on four trys as well.

Four additional Panthers scampered for at least one five-pointer, with Jasmine Gardner and Kim Youhas recording three and two trys, respectively.

Youhas booted 16 points via two-point conversions, going 8-for-21 on the day.

Besides setting a school-mark in trys, the Panthers also tallied a new high for runs over 20-yards with 25 total, besting the previous mark of 22 set in in 2009.

Defensively, Ellen Wilson recorded a game-high 10 solo stops, with Youhas following with eight tackles, while both Stefanie Mahan and Angelica Cerceo-Jensen each nabbed seven apiece.

EIU will have just five days to prepare for a rematch versus Lindenwood on Thursday (Oct. 25).  The game is set for a 3 p.m. start in St. Charles, Mo., as the game was originally scheduled for late September but moved to next week.

The Panthers already defeated LU, 43-10, back on Oct. 4 in the EIU home finale as only two contests were scheduled to be played at Lakeside Rugby Field this season.  In that game, the Lions enjoyed an early 10-0 lead, but the Panthers exploded for 43 straight points to earn the squad's first win of the season at that point of the 2012 campaign.
