Women's ResultsPEORIA, Ill. – Eastern Illinois men's and women's cross country completed their respective runs at the NCAA DI Midwest Regional today (Nov. 14), as the Panthers brought home 21st and 27th place finishes.
Sophomore
Riley McInerney paced the EIU guys with a 31:26.1 time in the 10K race to earn 84th place out of 208 competitors. Â While classmateÂ
Emily Brelsfoard was the top EIU women's finisher as she crossed the 6K finish line in 76th place with a time of 21:30.5. Â Brelsfoard's time set the EIU school record for the women at the 6K distance.
The other EIU women's competitors included
Ivy Handley with a time of 22:01.4. Â Freshman
Maria Baldwin had a time of 22:09.3. Â
Julie James posted a 6K time of 27:56.4. Â
Rachel Garippo finished with a time of 22:21.4. Â
Victoria Quarton was in at 22:25.6 with
Kristen Rohrer the final EIU finisher with a time of 22:40.9.
The other EIU men's competitors included
Derrick Johnson with a time of 31:36.7. Â
Joe Calio had a time of 31:47.1. Â
Paxson Menard had a 10K time of 31:50.6. Â
Ryan Ballard finished with a time of 32:40.4. Â
Mark Pedziwiatr had a time of 32:58.2. Â
Lucas Nudelman was the final EIU runner with a time of 32:58.4.
Team-wise, the Panther men out-paced fellow Ohio Valley Conference rivals SIUE (22nd) and Southeast Missouri (28th), while also running past fellow Midwest foes UMKC, Illinois-Chicago and DePaul. Â Oklahoma State placed first in the men's race.
For the women, Iowa State ran away with the overall team title, while the EIU women finished ahead of SEMO (28th) and SIUE (32nd), in addition to UIC and DePaul.
