PEORIA, Ill. – Eastern Illinois men's and women's cross country competed on Friday night at the Bradley Intercollegiate.
Maria Baldwin led the EIU women with a third place finish while
Paxson Menard paced the Panther men with a fifth place finish.
For the second straight week, EIU had all of its women's top five runners finish in a close pack as EIU had all five runners place in the top ten. Baldwin led the EIU group with a 3-mile time of 17:14.1 .
Victoria Quarton placed fifth with a time of 17:21.3 with
Emily Brelsfoard in sixth at 17:25.7.
Julie James and
Ivy Handley rounded out the EIU top ten runners. James was 9th with a time of 17:37.4. Handley was 10th with a time of 17:45.8.
Rachel Garippo and
Michelle Meyerholtz rounded out the top seven runners for EIU. Garippo was 12th with a time of 17:53.4. Meyerholtz was 13th with a time of 17:59.9
Menard had a top ten finish for the second straight week as he placed fifth with a time of 25:06.2.
Riley McInerney was seventh with a time of 25:19.5.
Bruyn Yunk was 11th with an 8K time of 25:57.9.
Ryan Ballard and
Lucas Nudelman completed the Panthers top five scored runners. Ballard was 16th with a time of 25:58.2. Nudelman was 18th with a time of 26:24.3.
Derrick Johnson and
Mark Pedziwiatr closed out the top seven EIU runners. Johnson was 19th with a time of 26:25.3. Pedziwiatr was 20th with a time of 26:36.4.
The event was a dual scored meet for NCAA Division I schools which included Bradley, Eastern Illinois, Chicago State and Western Illinois. EIU returns to action on Oct. 4 at the Louisville Meet.
