AUSTIN, Texas – Eastern Illinois men's track had one athlete advance to the Saturday quarterfinal round while two other Panthers had their individual seasons end in the quarterfinals on Friday.
Calvin Edwards placed third in his heat and was 24th overall as he qualified for Saturday's quarterfinal round in the 200m with a time of 21.12. Teammate
Norvel Mohammed was 38th in the 200m with a time of 21.42.
Earlier in the evening Mohammed ran in the quarterfinals of the 400m just missing a trip to the National Championships in Oregon as he placed 14th with a time of 46.82. The top 12 runners moved on to Eugene.
Ephraim Dorsey placed 17th in the 800m quarterfinals with a time of 1:49.47.
Edwards, Mohammed and Dorsey will all take place in relays on Saturday evening as EIU will compete in the 4x100 and 4x400 relay events. Edwards will compete in the 200m quarterfinals. Senior
David Johansson will compete in the men's javelin at noon.
