MUNCIE, Ind. – Eastern Illinois returned to action on Saturday afternoon as the Panthers lost on the road, 6-1, at Ball State.
 
EIU fell to 0-2 on the year and will return to action on Friday playing at IUPUI.  Ball State moved to 1-1 on the year.
 
After dropping all three matches to loss the double points, EIU was able to get on the board at the No. 1 singles spot.  Freddie O'Brien picked up a 6-3, 4-4 win over Nemanja Guzina.
 
O'Brien had opened the day playing with Trent Reiman at No. 1 doubles as the pair lost, 6-4, to Guzina and Thibault De Negri.
 
Trent Reiman would lose his No. 3 singles match to De Negri, 6-4, 6-0.
 
All five Ball State wins in singles were in straight sets.  Logan Charbonneau playing at No. 4 singles was competitive at 6-4, 6-4, in his loss to Conner Anderson.
