VALPARAISO, Ind. – Eastern Illinois men's tennis dropped its opening contest of the weekend falling at Valparaiso on Friday, 7-0.
EIU fell to 1-7 on the season and will host Saint Francis (Ill.) on Sunday at 12 p.m. at the Danville Tennis Center. Valpo moved to 2-3 on the season.
The Crusaders opened the match winning the doubles point winning at No. 1 and No. 3.Â
Jared Woodson and
Gage Kingsmith were leading their No. 2 doubles match 5-4, but the match was unfinished after Valpo claimed the point.
Valpo won five of the six points in straight sets. Playing at No. 1 singles
Freddie O'Brien had his five match win streak snapped as he lost in the third set to Chad Kissell. Kissell won 4-6, 6-1, 10-2.
